55W CO₂ Laser Cutting for Long Material Projects
Bambu Lab R1 Long Material Bundle expands the R1 CO₂ laser platform for large-format and long-material workflows. The bundle combines the R1 55W CO₂ Laser Cutter & Engraver with the Riser Base and Automatic Conveyor Feeder, enabling pass-through processing of long workpieces while retaining the intelligent positioning, automated alignment and precise motion control of the R1 platform.

The Long Material Bundle adds the hardware required to extend R1 beyond its standard work area and process long sheets, boards and panels with automatic material feeding.
Go Furniture-Scale
With the Automatic Conveyor Feeder, R1 can process materials far beyond the dimensions of its standard 600 × 300 mm work area. Pass-through feeding supports workpieces up to 3,000 mm long, making the system suitable for long panels, shelving, furniture components, signage and other large-format cutting and engraving projects.

Maximum cutting thickness depends on the material, focusing lens, processing settings and operating conditions.
Automatic Laser Alignment
R1 automates a process that traditionally requires repeated test pulses and manual mirror adjustment. The Laser Alignment Sensor measures the beam position, identifies optical-path deviation and works with motorized mirror actuators to correct the alignment automatically. The alignment process takes approximately one minute.
TriSense Positioning System
Cameras, lasers and encoders work together to determine material position, surface height and toolhead movement before and during processing.
Localization
Cameras and the Pinpoint laser help position designs accurately on the workpiece.
Surface Measurement
Laser distance measurement determines surface height and supports automatic focusing.
Motion Tracking
XY-axis encoders continuously track toolhead movement for precise and controlled processing.
Fast, Controlled Laser Processing
R1 uses motion-control technologies adapted from Bambu Lab 3D printers to support accurate processing and consistent engraving during high-speed toolhead movement.
Up to 1000 mm/s

Laser output is adjusted according to movement speed to help maintain consistent engraving tone during processing.
Important Safety Information
The standard fully enclosed R1 is classified as a Class 1 laser system. When accessories such as the Riser Base or Automatic Conveyor Feeder are installed and the enclosure is opened for pass-through operation, additional laser safety requirements apply. Follow Bambu Lab instructions for the selected configuration and use the required protective equipment.
